Denise Peck

Executive Advisor

Denise is passionate about helping Asian professionals to reach their aspirational career goals through mentoring, leadership development workshops, public speaking, and publishing research on the Asian glass ceiling. She spent her long career in multi-functional areas in executive positions at Sun Microsystems and Cisco. As Executive Advisor to Ascend, the largest Pan-Asian business professional organization in North America, she co-authored several groundbreaking papers which detailed the leadership gaps for ethnic minorities in US companies. Denise has been an executive mentor for MJAA in Silicon Valley for 12 years.

Denise holds a BA in Economics from U.C. Berkeley, and an MBA from Stanford University. She is also the founder and current Co-President of Stanford Graduate School of Business’ Asian Alumni network. She would love being challenged to a game of ping-pong.

Effective communication skills are vital to advancing your career. Knowing your audience and speaking with intention will help you deliver results, increase your influence, and inspire others. This session covers two important types of communication: presenting in a high-stakes situation and giving and receiving constructive feedback. You’ll get hands-on practice during the session and leave with frameworks and tips to use immediately on the job.
